Rhys was born on 29 October 1993 in Lewisham, London. He was interested in theatre and drama from a young age. This prompted him to star in school theatre productions at the age of ten. In 2013, he joined the National Youth Theatre. He completed his education at Bower Park Academy and the University of Westminster. It was during his time at the University of Westminster, he began his career as a presenter. Stephenson worked on the university’s TV channel, and later, he won the award for Best On-Screen Male at the National Student Television Award Shows. Stephenson has a young fanbase.
