THE SUICIDE SQUAD
James Gunn’s movie is a follow up of David Ayer’s 2016 “The Suicide Squad”. It’s basically the continuation and improvement of the old movie after the old movie was majorly criticized by the critics. In spite of that, 2016’s ‘The suicide squad’ was hit at the box office. It’s presumed that Gunn will bring a total news aspect to the sequel, every movie buff is waiting for it, right?
As DCEU part, the suicide squad is a very crucial film in the studio’s list of DC films. They have basically tried to blend together a successful comic book movie multiverse.
Warner Bros decision: How directors are affected?
With many in-house filmmakers of Warner Bros are rattled by the decision, now they have started going public about it. James Gunn is also very disappointed by the decision. James who is called “platform-agnostic” is very upset by the decision they made for being both biased and the solutions they have been offering. According to the sources, the studio has offered them a lackluster compensation model, that would ensure that the filmmakers and other profit contributors get money at the backend.
James Gunn is more dissatisfied when he got to know that Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins are receiving $10 million paydays.
Not only James Gunn is disappointed with the studio’s decision. The director of ‘Tenet’ Christoper Nolan recently came out vigorously against the company’s decision. According to the sources, Patty Jenkins, director of 1984 Wonder Woman and its movie star Gal Gadot are receiving above $10 million paydays has made Gunn upset. Gunn found his payment unsatisfactory which indicates Warner Bros studio’s lack of planning. The desire to announce the decision quickly, made Warner Bros studio biased.
‘The Suicide Squad’ is one of the most expected films after Wonder Woman of DCEU films, of 2021. After Gunn got fired from Disney, Warner Bros took him, and he wasn’t probably a cheap get. After that Gunn made ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ a super hit and people have expectations with him for ‘The Suicide squad’ too. The biased and unplanned decision made by Warner Bros has left talent as Gunn’s blindsided.
