The new terms are said to be interfering with the privacy of the users using WhatsApp.

Just a week ago, the world’s richest man alive, Elon Musk, tweeted to use Signal App after the news broke out about WhatsApp updating its privacy terms. The signal app seems to be new to us, but it has been used by many people for a long time because of the way the app maintains the privacy of its users. Facebook, the parent company of WhatsApp in the past, has been many times data leaks that are considered as the ultimate threat to the privacy of the data of the users.

Signal App- An Alternative to WhatsApp

Signal Foundation, officially known as Signal Technology foundation, was established as a nonprofit origination. The main aim of the aim is to maintain the privacy of its users. It was said that these apps had been used by Scientists, Scholars for months because these professions need ultimate privacy in their communications. The app started trending soon after Elon Musk tweeted, “Use Signal.” The Signal team soon after Musk’s tweet experienced heavy incoming of new users on its platform that it tweeted about the same.

The signal app will offer everything that WhatsApp offers, which ranges from sending and receiving messages, making voice or video calls, and even sending gifs and stickers. Signal’s main feature or the thing that is taking the lead is privacy that it claims to maintain the data of its users. The signal app is available on Android, iOS, Windows, Mac, and even Linux. But, the thing that isn’t making good sense is the user base of the Signal App when compared to the user base of WhatsApp. In simple terms, that means if you download the Signal app to communicate with your friend, your friend also needs to be a user of Signal App, and this is what WhatsApp is leading currently. But, this isn’t that big problem because once people start using Signal, then it automatically expands the scale because the other person is compelled to do so to communicate among people.

Is Signal safe to Use and Better than WhatsApp?

Definitely, after WhatsApp updated its privacy policies, Signal App is better in terms of safety. WhatsApp’s new terms are going to implement in next month, February. The new terms of the privacy policy say that WhatsApp’s parent company Facebook will use the data of the users that will include images, videos, and even the voice and video call to use in the product development of Facebook. The product here means that based on your data, Facebook will pop up targeted ads for you based on the data that has been acquired from your messages.

In terms of an app for its feature, Signal is in its initial stage and can’t be compared directly with WhatsApp, which has been a long time player. Signal App will take some time to develop their app to the extent that will match the standards of WhatsApp. Sometime back, there was also a debate of- WhatsApp vs. Telegram. Though the user base of Telegram is quite good, it didn’t manage well to be replaced as an alternative to WhatsApp. Many groups of You Tubers have been started on the Telegram app because it maintains the privacy of users because the mobile number isn’t shared among the members of the group, which is a drawback in the case of WhatsApp.
