Spaceport partners with Toei Animation to integrate Hypergalactic IP into UGC platforms like Roblox and Fortnite

Spaceport, a Web3 IP licensing platform, is partnering with Toei Animation, the studio behind popular series like One Piece and Dragon Ball. This collaboration will allow content from Toei’s upcoming film, Hypergalactic, to be used in user-generated content (UGC) gaming platforms such as Roblox and Fortnite.

The partnership enables gaming content creators to incorporate Hypergalactic IP into their games, enhancing both the visibility and reach of Toei’s new content.

According to Le Zhang, founder and CEO of Spaceport, the collaboration aims to merge anime with virtual worlds, allowing communities to create deeply personal and interactive experiences.

This initiative is not only about introducing new content to gaming platforms but also about unlocking new revenue streams for IP owners. Zhang sees this as an opportunity for Hypergalactic to build a significant fanbase and cultural impact, similar to Toei’s previous successes with Dragon Ball and One Piece.

Toei Animation is exploring a new strategy to promote Hypergalactic by tapping into popular gaming platforms that attract primarily Gen Z audiences, who have a strong affinity for anime.

Spaceport’s platform provides game studios and individual creators with access to a library of IPs they can use in monetized works, helping Toei drive awareness and engagement with this key demographic.

Yoshi Ikezawa, head of international co-production at Toei Animation, highlighted the importance of this partnership, noting that Spaceport’s technology will bring Hypergalactic to life in ways that engage and inspire fans. This collaboration exemplifies the vast potential of UGC platforms to revolutionize entertainment and enhance fan engagement with new IPs.

Furthermore, this arrangement offers a legal framework for fans to create and monetize content featuring Toei’s IP, mitigating the risks associated with unlicensed use. This represents a shift in Toei’s approach to protecting its IP while encouraging fan interaction and development of content related to Hypergalactic, which is currently in post-production without a confirmed release date.
