Apple Will Release its Vision Pro Headset in China

According to CEO Tim Cook’s statement to Chinese state media, Apple is gearing up to launch its Vision Pro headset in China this year

In a video posted on one of CCTV’s accounts on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, Cook can be heard responding “yes” when asked about the Vision Pro’s China launch this year.

The virtual and augmented reality headset, which launched in the U.S. in February with a starting price of $3,500, will now enter the competitive Chinese market.

Cook has been touring a new Apple store in Shanghai and attending the China Development Forum in Beijing, which comes at a critical time for Apple.

The company’s sales in the greater China region declined nearly 13% in the December quarter, amid consumer caution over spending and increased competition in the smartphone market, particularly from Huawei.

Despite these challenges, Cook reaffirmed Apple’s commitment to the Chinese market, expressing his confidence and admiration for the country.

“I am very confident in it (China),” Cook said. “I love China, I love being here, I love the people and the culture. Every time I come here, I am reminded that anything is possible here.”
