Kalypso Media and Claymore Game Studios have announced the release of a demo for their upcoming real-time tactics game Commandos: Origins.
The demo is currently available exclusively on PC and Xbox Series S|X, though the full game will also be launching on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
In this test mission, players will take on the roles of the Green Beret and Marine, diving straight into the heart of tactical warfare.
Their objective is to sabotage an advanced German radar system that has been responsible for a significant rise in RAF casualties.
The Green Beret is skilled with his combat knife and Colt M1911 pistol, though sometimes it’s more strategic to use a sound decoy to distract enemies and sneak by unnoticed.
The Marine, known for his deadly precision with throwing knives, can also skillfully use a simple rock to divert guards’ attention.
Set during World War II on the Channel Islands, Commandos: Origins showcases the Commandos’ unique abilities as they work to sabotage a German radar system.
This demo-exclusive mission, titled “Operation: Prelude,” offers players a preview of the intricate gameplay mechanics and stealth tactics that will be fully available in the game’s release.
The complete game will feature fourteen missions set in various authentic World War II environments, from the harsh Arctic to the scorching African desert.
Players will be able to choose from six distinct Commandos: Jack O’Hara “the Green Beret,” Thomas “the Sapper” Hancock, Francis T. “the Sniper” Woolridge, Samuel “the Driver” Brooklyn, James “the Marine” Blackwood, and Rene “the Spy” Duchamp.
Commandos: Origins is still on track to launch in 2024, despite the fact that only a few months remain in the year.
The game will be available on Game Pass for both PC and consoles from day one.
