In this article, we will discuss the official release date of the highly anticipated video game.

Introduction

Stardew Valley creator Eric “ConcernedApe” Barron’s next game has been finally announced, and the game is called Haunted Chocolatier. There is not much info available regarding the game yet. But other than that, it appears to be a game in a similar vein to Stardrew Valley. But Barone was kind enough to give us a small detail via a two-minute teaser trailer. According to Eric Barone, Stardew Valley was a more humble game, as it has your character living off the land and connecting to people and nature. But this video game, Haunted Chocolatier, will “explore more fantastical possibilities,” with experiences that take you beyond the ordinary.

The first word in the game, “Chocolate represents that which is delightful,” said Eric. And the second word in the game, “The haunted castle represents the allure of the unknown. All of these things are so important.

The upcoming game has only been officially announced for PC but will also come to other major platforms. The upcoming game Haunted Chocolatier isn’t the only game Eric Barone is working on. In 2020, Barone shared he was working on two new game projects, but both were a long way off from completion. And he also said one takes place in the world of Stardew Valley but is not a farming game. And the other one, he wasn’t 100% sure about the world just yet, but that it will tie into Stardew Valley somehow.

Haunted Chocolatier Release Date

The upcoming video game Haunted Chocolatier does not currently have a release date. And developer ConcernedApe notes that ” it will take some time for this game to be done.” Work on the video game title began in 2020, and, as the announcement of the video game was made in October 2021, it is still “relatively early in development.”

There Aren’t Many Details Yet, But There Are Ghosts.

Details on the official video game project are scarce. Still, gameplay trailer videos show a mysterious castle is filled with moody lighting and a chocolate shop, including bonbon-shaped little ghost workers carrying actual chocolate bonbons on their heads. However, the images show that Haunted Chocolatier has the same eye-catching pixel art style as Eric Barron’s first game, the immersive farming simulator Stardew Valley. The creators of the game say their next game will purposefully go in new directions. In the previous game, “Stardew Valley, the main focus of the game was more humble: living off the land, growing food, and connecting to the people and nature around you,” Eric Barone said on a page announcing the new project.

He also says, “However, with my next video game project, I wanted to explore more fantastical possibilities … experiences that take you beyond the ordinary style. That is where the video game magical haunted ghost chocolate comes in.” The upcoming video game is a single-player, not muti, role-play game confirmed for PC with other platforms likely to follow.

The Game Won’t Be Just Stardew Valley With Chocolate

With this game coming, players will jump into the pixelated life of a chocolate maker. And they’ll have to explore the local castle and surrounding town to find rare ingredients, whip up delectable chocolates and sell them in their chocolate store, according to the game’s announcement. Eric Barone says the core gameplay for the upcoming video game will also stray from that previous game Stardew Valley, with the new game having more of an emphasis on action role-playing. And, of course, the teaser features melee and bow-and-arrow combat in a wilderness setting as well. But, of course, there are a few similarities. “Like Stardew Valley, Haunted Chocolatier is another ‘town game.’ Where you move to a new town and try your hand at a new way of living,” Eric Barone clarified on the game’s website.

Fans Can’t-Wait — But They Might Have To

The upcoming video game was inspired by the 1990s highly-popular Harvest Moon series, Eric Barone set out to make a game that paid reverence to older eras of gaming. And that goal resonated with players, and a devoted fan community crystallized around Stardew Valley; those crazy fans have been keenly keeping watch for Barone’s next venture.

So, the upcoming video game Haunted Chocolatier’s announcement has already met with plenty of fan excitement and expectation — but it’s unclear just how long aspiring chocolate makers will have to wait, as Eric Barone cautions the game is still in early production, and it takes time ready. As with the previous game, Stardew Valley, Eric Barone says he’s working on his new game project alone and has no plans to bring other developers on board.

Story

In this video game, you play as a chocolatier living in a haunted castle, having to gather rare ingredients and also use them in various chocolate recipes, which you then sell in your chocolate shop. As you can tell, for now, there is a bit more chocolate involved than in Stardew Valley. In the video game, “Chocolate represents that which is delightful. And the haunted castle represents the allure of the unknown. The ghosts represent the imprint of the past. All of these things are so important. However, don’t think for a moment that, because the game features ghosts in a castle which are haunted, it’s a bad or negative game,” the developer wrote in a post announcing the game.

“On the contrary related to this game, I intend for this game to be positive, uplifting, and life-affirming. However, if Stardew Valley channeled most of the Sun’s energy, Haunted Chocolatier channeled the Moon’s energy. Both are important.”

Haunted Chocolatier Gameplay

The famous and highly anticipated video game haunted chocolatier gameplay will feature familiar elements, like moving into a new town, interacting with the townsfolk, and rebuilding your life around a new trade. In the meantime, “the core gameplay and theming are quite different,” according to Eric. “This video game is more of an action RPG compared to previous game Stardew Valley. And in place of a farm is the focal point of your endeavors, it’s a chocolate shop.”

The haunted Chocolatier trailer found below showcases some of its explorations, crafting, gathering, and combat, all rendered using pixel art that should feel quite familiar to anyone who’s played ConcernedApe’s previous famous game. There are no plans to include a multiplayer component in the game.

Haunted Chocolatier System Requirements

So, there’s no talk on Haunted Chocolatier’s system requirements for now. And given its pixel art visual effects, we don’t expect it to require cutting-edge hardware, but we’ll know for sure closer to launch. We have to wait sometime and see where the game is going.

Where Can I Buy It And How Much Will It Cost?
