Boxing Career And Achievements
Natasha Jonas started her boxing career at the age of 21. She initially envisioned becoming a football player and hence spent eighteen months in college on a football scholarship. But later, she chose boxing as a profession. Jonas competed mainly in the 64Kg division. She is the holder of five ABA Championship titles. In 2010, Jonas defeated boxer Amanda Coulson and won a gold in the inaugural GB Amateur Boxing Championships. In 2012, she made history by becoming the first British boxer to compete in Olympics. Jonas made it to the semi-finals but had to surrender to Quannitta Underwoods and take the bronze medal. Channel 4 aired a documentary titled Knockout Scousers in 2012. Jonas featured in the documentary and traced her journey right from its beginning to the Olympic qualification.

In 2015, Jonas shocked the world with the news of her retirement from her career due to pregnancy. She thought a revival would be impossible, and hence this is going to be the end. But after the birth of her daughter Mela, Natasha regained the strength to fight, and in 2020, she challenged the WBC and IBO female super featherweight title. On 7 August 2020, Jonas fought British boxer Terri Harper for the title. But the match ended in a draw. For WBC, IBO lightweight titles, she was made to compete with Irish professional boxer Katie Taylor. But Jonas lost the match for 9-2-1.
