In a disturbing incident, a user from Turkey reported that a pair of Samsung Galaxy Buds FE exploded while in use, causing permanent hearing damage to his girlfriend.
This story, initially posted on Samsung’s Turkish community forum, quickly gained attention from international media outlets (via HT Tech).
The user explained that he had recently purchased the Galaxy Buds FE to use with his Galaxy S23 Ultra. Upon first use, the earbuds had a 36 per cent charge, and he had not recharged them yet.
When his girlfriend tried the earbuds, the situation escalated tragically—one of the earbuds allegedly exploded while she was wearing it, leading to significant hearing loss, according to reports.
Multiple media outlets have covered the story, stating that the user later took the damaged Galaxy Buds to a Samsung service center in Cemalpasa, Adana. Initially, the staff at the center appeared shocked and apologetic upon seeing the damage.
However, following a two-day investigation, the company reportedly concluded that the earbuds had merely “deformed” rather than exploded.
As a gesture of goodwill, Samsung offered a replacement of the same model but maintained a “take it or leave it” stance, also advising the user that he could pursue legal action if dissatisfied with the outcome.
Frustrated by the response, the user shared that he had been dealing with the issue for months.
He emphasized that he had all the necessary evidence, including the original invoice, photos of the earbuds both before and after the incident, and medical documentation verifying that the explosion caused the hearing loss.
Although these claims have not been independently verified, the incident raises ongoing concerns about the safety of Bluetooth devices. This is not the first time reports have emerged about wireless earbuds causing serious injuries.
Such events highlight the potential risks associated with defective manufacturing and underscore the need for stringent safety protocols in the tech industry.
Additionally, reports indicate that over 3.6 crore Indians visited a platform in a single day for updates during India’s General Elections, affirming its status as the nation’s go-to source for election results.
