Zoe Old and Marion Vincent have led the group for the past year. A Somerset group providing support for local women entrepreneurs is celebrating a successful inaugural year.
Founded in 2023 by female business owners eager to offer support to like-minded individuals, Wellington Women in Business (WWB) has quickly become a valuable resource for its members.
Despite running their own separate businesses, the founders recognized the common challenges they faced and sought to create a supportive community for others in similar positions.
Marion Vincent, one of the founders, emphasized the importance of business owners coming together to uplift one another.
Ms. Vincent, who runs Growing Minds, an outdoor learning group for children in Wellington, expressed her journey as a businesswoman: “I’m not a natural entrepreneur, but I’ve enjoyed learning about marketing, self-promotion, and attracting my audience. The current business landscape is challenging, with many businesses closing. I believe now, more than ever, we need to unite and support each other.”
Zoe Old, another founder and owner of Pamper You by Zoe, a beauty clinic in Wellington, reflected on the group’s success: “We have been amazed by how well this first year has gone. It’s been wonderful to discover the talented women in Wellington. We have a wealth of talent in our town, and the camaraderie we’ve fostered has been incredible.”
“We identified a gap in the community where we felt we could bring everyone together and organically grow our businesses,” she added.
The group celebrated its achievements at an event in Wellington last week, highlighting the positive impact WWB has had on its members and the broader business community in Somerset.
